Puerto Juarez, is a traditional and very quiet neighborhood. Surrounded by the best local seafood restaurants in Cancun. The Isla Mujeres ferry terminal is within walking distance from here. There is a 24/7 mini market just across the street for the basics and a local market about 6 blocks away.
The best option is to rent a car. In that case, there are many companies at the airport and downtown that offer that service.
Otherwise, you always have the option of requesting a cab, which security guards can request. Prices are very reasonable in the center of the city but, if you go to the hotel zone, they increase.
